Food Drive How To

* Note, there will not be a liason visiting your office this year.

  • Each participating REALTOR® Office will be provided with a 55 gallon donation barrel which, when filled, will be picked up, weighed, and recorded by the local Food Bank or Lead Agency.
  • Participants should use the same geographic farm areas that they used the previous year.
  • Team captains are responsible for calling the local food bank when the barrel is full.
  • A representative from the food bank will weigh the food and provide the team captain with a receipt.
  • Please give the representative from the food bank all money collected ASAP.
  • Team captains should maintain a list of money and food collected by the food bank to verify that the final totals are accurate.

 * Grocery List Instructions: Print out the grocery list page. Cut along the dotted line to divide all 4 grocery lists. Hand out easy shopping grocery lists while farming your geograpic map areas or while manning a grocery store. These lists make it easy for food drive owners to know what to donate and ensure that the food banks get the items that they need most.

Upon completion of the Food Drive and final tabulation of the Contest results, a Prize will be awarded to the winning REALTOR® Office!

One Prize will go to the office with the most overall pounds (based on food and monetary contributions which are calculated at 6 equivalent pounds per dollar donated).

A second award will go to the office that collects the most equivalent food poundage per agent (calculated on a “per capita basis” of all active agents). This will give even the smaller (hard working) offices a fair shot at winning.

Awards will be presented at the SCCAR Awards and Installation Banquet in January 2010. Winning offices will also receive publicity in the local newspaper.

For many years the Snohomish County-Camano Association of REALTORS®, have organized a Food Drive in an effort to bring food to Snohomish County families. Again this year we are working directly with the SNOHOMISH COUNTY FOOD BANK COALITION whose purpose is to feed and assist the needy people of Snohomish County by supplying goods, services, and emergency aid to anyone in time of need regardless of race, sex, religion or creed.
